There is a fly in here today. I've got the place too cluttered to really make a go at him. I opened the window thinking that he'd fly out. It's giant.
When I was cooking I'd have to bring water to the table... or coffee. Most of the time I'd be in the kitchen cooking and not in front of the customers. In the beginning I'd keep thinking to myself, "don't pour it on their lap, don't pour it on their lap..." I was out of my venue and WAS a little nervous about messing up, but saying that made it interesting. It was one of the jokes I had with myself and Barry to get into the job.
This painting came out really easily, but to continue I'm going to find that mindset of not pouring in the lap to finish it.
In other news I talked to my dad today about a self portrait project called Faux Pa, where I dress up like my father, recreating memories of he and I and take photos. He didn't seem opposed to the idea, but when I asked him about taking some of the photos he got a little dodgey, but I don't know how I'd react to that either.
